Learning support

Green Hills Academy has several pathways for offering learning support.

Academic Support and Enrichment Program

GHA has a program called Academic Support and Enrichment Program. The Academic Support and Enrichment Program (ASEP) runs daily from 5:00pm -7:00pm, after extracurricular activities. The program is open to middle school and high school students. Each day there are be specific subjects taught by a qualified GHA teacher. Teachers run revision lessons and help students with concepts they are struggling with.

Parents can enroll their child four days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday) for the term or parents can enroll children according to the days of the week specific subjects are being taught to cater to certain areas that require additional support. The cost of the program includes a light snack before study, and dinner, and the bus home.

For more information please contact the GHA School Counselor and ASEP Coordinator, Ms. Flavia, via email at m.owambof@greenhillsacademy.rw.

Reading Intervention

Green Hills Academy offers reading intervention to children in Grades 1-8 in English and in Grades 1-4 in French. Reading intervention is for one period, every school day, for a  period of 16 weeks. Children in the reading intervention program work one-on-one or in small groups with our reading intervention teachers. Students are benchmarked prior to entering the program and throughout the program to ensure success. The English program uses the Fountas and Pinnell program, while the French program uses Reading A-Z French. The school recommends students for the program who fall more than 1 year behind grade level and there is a fee for the program.
